8 Delicious Smoothie Recipes You Need To Try

Recently smoothies have been taking over in my household. We are obsessed and have been making them every single morning, trying all sorts of smoothie recipes, and always hunting for more. Thank you “that girl” Pinterest aesthetic and YouTubers for getting me on that grind. And a special thank you to my new Ninja blender… you have changed my life. 

If you follow me on Instagram then you would know I’ve been posting my smoothies with little recipes on my stories many days of the week! Also, if you are not following me on Instagram you are missing out so go do that. Anyways, everyone is pretty aware of the smoothie love and the smoothie recipe sharing that’s been going on!

However, I haven’t been sharing the specifics and I want to share so you can go make these yummy smoothies too! We are all about sharing info here 😊

We are also all about things being easy! I love when a recipe is simple and has minimal ingredients. If you know anything about me it’s that I’m not necessarily ~lazy~ I just like it when things are straightforward. So these smoothie recipes are exactly that, straightforward.

Why are smoothies so complicated?

Just a little side story here… I have started reading a book called Anxiety Free With Food and I skipped ahead to the recipes as you do and was kind of shocked to see the smoothie/ juice recipes.

Some of the recipes literally had like 10 or more ingredients AND half the ingredients were something obscure that no one has. Like where would you even buy these items? What kind of grocery stores does this person shop at? Definitely not Safeway because they don’t have that shit. 

Anyways, just my little rant because I hate when things like smoothies are overly complicated. It is a reason I haven’t gotten into this sooner because I felt that any “healthy” smoothie had all these random ingredients and would take me 30 minutes to put together.

Turns out that is simply not true and I want to share my super easy, accessible smoothie recipes with you just in case you have felt the same way as me ❤

Ps. That is not to say that the book is bad. So far I’m actually really into the book but the recipes were a little overwhelming!

Easy and delicious smoothie recipes

Yummy green smoothie

How do we feel about the color green? Years ago I would have NEVER drank something that was green. Just no. Not for me. But times have changed and I’m into it now and any piece of advice I’d have for you if green drinks freak you out would be: make it somewhat sweet do it’s not like drinking a vegetable!

The recipe:

  • 1 banana 
  • 1 cup of baby spinach 
  • ½ cup of orange juice
  • ½ cup of water 
  • 1 cup of frozen pineapple

Banana peanut butter smoothie

This tastes like a milkshake and no one can tell me otherwise. This is my absolute favorite smoothie for when I want more of a treat!

The recipe:

  • 1 banana
  • 2 tbsp smooth peanut butter
  • 1 cup vanilla almond milk 
  • Splash of vanilla
  • Sprinkle of cinnamon 
  • 1 cup ice

Ginger strawberry smoothie

This was my first time adding ginger and was really pleasantly surprised! It does have a strong taste, don’t let anyone tell you it doesn’t. But it’s not a bad taste and ginger has soooo many health benefits so it’s worth it! 

The recipe:

  • 1 banana
  • 1 cube of ginger root chopped up
  • 1 cup orange juice 
  • 1 cup frozen strawberries 

** note: I added spinach to this one and found the taste didn’t change but the color did and it was not great… like mud brown lol so keep that in mind if you want to add greens!

5 smoothie recipes I want to try next

Like I mentioned above I’ve been spending my time looking for more smoothies to try! There are so many recipes out there but I’ve been trying to find ones that are a little different but also simple and with accessible ingredients! So here are 5 that are on my “to make” list.

Carrot cake smoothie – this sounds and looks delicious!! Fun fact about me: carrot cake is my favorite cake so this is a must try for me! Can’t wait to let you guys know how it is.

Glowing berry beet smoothie – I am intrigued by the beets added in this one! I am not usually a beet person, but I appreciate them in this smoothie. Plus the beets give it a really beautiful color!

Creamy avocado smoothie – not going to lie, I think I’ll probably skip some of the ingredients in this one because it’s a lot but it looks very yummy! I have wanted to try putting avocado in my smoothies for a while so this will be a great addition to my smoothie lineup!

Good morning coffee lovers smoothie – Coffee and a smoothie? Sign me up! This sounds sooo yummy and I cannot wait to try it. Also, it calls for cauliflower which is very interesting.

Creamy pineapple cucumber smoothie – I have always been interested in trying drinks with cucumber as I love a good cucumber! This one sounds like it would be so fresh and perfect for summer!
