August 2023: Everything Is Happening So Fast

September is here!! I may be biased but I think September is one of the best months. Definitely has nothing to do with the fact that my birthday is in September… no, not at all 😜

But before I can get all crazy excited about September we need to discuss August because that is what this post is all about!

August was another good month. I did a lot of really fun things (maybe you saw the pics on my Instagram wrap-up). The weather was decent in Southern BC but not too hot which I personally like. However, it hasn’t been that way for everyone in BC as we saw some really nasty wildfires (many of which are still burning). If I have any readers from BC that were affected by the fires I’m so sorry ♥️

Blogging has unfortunately taken a bit of a backseat lately as I am gearing up for my wedding next month. I am really hoping to get a few posts out in September as I have some awesome content planned so keep your eyes out!

Anyways, let’s get into the wrap-up 🙂

August kept me busy

Okay, we need to recap some fun things that happened in August because there was a lot!

I went on my bachelorette trip to the Sunshine Coast here in BC. It was such a fun trip. There are so many cideries there which I love so we did a bit of a cidery tour. I am more of a low-key type of person so I didn’t want anything crazy. It turned out to be pretty perfect.

It was also Luna’s birthday!! If you’re new here, Luna is my cat. She turned 4 which is just like WILD. I still remember the day I met her at PetSmart and she literally fell asleep in my arms within 2 minutes of meeting.

Rib Fest came to Langley (where I live). I had never gone before because I’m not really a rib gal but it seemed like a fun outing. Also, I found out my FAV perogies were going to be there so it was a no-brainer. The perogies were delicious! Shout out to Veronicas Perogies in Aldergrove. Check her out if you’re ever in the area.

I saw the Barbie movie and it was just as iconic as everyone was saying. I even dressed up in a cute little pink jumpsuit!

There were lots of pool days, nights out at the breweries, and *some* time for reading.

I also ended up in the hospital for 9 hours! Not the best ending to August but that’s okay. Turns out I just have really bad anxiety but better safe than sorry. September will be my first time ever going to therapy so wish me luck!

Goal updates:

Blog page views: I am really proud of the progress I’m making here. Last month I told you guys I hit 3k page views for like a day lol but in August my page views did not drop below 3.3k page views. Small progress but so happy to see it!

Instagram: I did see a bit of growth in August. I focused less on posting but I have been pretty active on my stories. I’m not sure if that is making a difference or not. It’s all just guessing at this point lol but I am sitting around 1770 followers.

Email list: I have 221 awesome email subscribers! I surpassed my goal (200 which was my 2nd goal for the email list this year). I am going to set my next goal for 400!

Workouts: I’m not really tracking my workouts anymore but I have a pretty solid schedule. I did fall off towards the end of August because of my bachelorette party, wedding stuff, and mental health but we are back on track now.

Reading: 26/60 books for the year. I only read 1 book in August but like I said, it was busy. I am halfway through the last ACOTAR book which is a big one so once I finish this one I think my reading will pick back up.

Projects I am working on

Last month I told you guys I was starting to work on a new freebie and it’s finally finished!!

I will be sending it out to my email list first so if you want it first, sign up for the email. Otherwise, it will be coming out sometime in September.

It’s a workbook that will go with a blog post I am writing for September. Excited to share it.

I am also playing around with an Etsy shop. I would really love to make more workbooks and other digital things that could be helpful to your personal growth journey. If you have ideas or even products you’d like to see feel free to comment below or send me a message!

My favourites from August:

Best Amazon purchase: Ice roller! I’ve been using this ice roller on my face all month and I am actually obsessed

Yummiest meal: Homemade pizzas using thin pizza crusts and lots of pepperoni, salami, peppers, and cheese.

Favourite song: Karma by Taylor Swift. I took a small break from Taylor because well, she’s everywhere but I’m back baby! Karma has been my car sing-along song.

Best game played: Drinking jenga – played this on my bach trip and it was so fun. We were all laughing all night.

Favourite skin care: Neutrogena Bright Boost Gel Cream

Favourite insta post: the post on new habits I started!

Intentions for September

September is already here because I was late on this post lol but here are some of my intentions for the month.

  • Spend more time outside (especially walking during work)
  • Slow down (focus on slow mornings and evenings)
  • Eat for nourishment
  • Focus on what you can control
  • Stop to celebrate all the little wins
  • Spend less time on my phone

What are your intentions for September? Did you do anything fun in August? Tell me about it in the comments!
