March 2022 Wrap Up | New Recipes, Emails, & Feeling Happier

Another month is in the books! I know I always say time is flying but truly, it is! This month has been kind of difficult routine wise. I felt like I really feel out of my routines and was a bit hard on myself for it. I am hopeful that April will be better. Definitely need a fresh start haha.
I do feel good about getting a few goals sorted out. Some progress was made and I feel good about it π did you make any goal progress this month? Tell me about it in the comments!

What I read in March:
Another month, another 6 books down! This seems to be my average amount of books per month and I’m happy with that. My goal for the year is 50 and so far I am at 22!
The Hand on the Wall by Maureen Johnson – The final book in the Truly Devious series and what a finale! This is a YA murder mystery. Stevie gets to go to a remote school for ultra smart (and rich) kids. Her end of the year project? Solve a decades old cold case that took place at the school she’s currently at.
The 10x Rule by Grant Cardone – The premise of this book is to dream really big and take massive action (10x the normal amount). The ideas were not necessarily new but the delivery was good and definitely motivated me. Grant has some radical opinions lol but it was interesting!
You Have a Match by Emma Lord – Ahhh this was so cute. YA friends to lovers at summer camp but also sisters finding each other. So, there’s a lot to love and the characters are sweet. I wanted to scream at the parents at times but then had to remember it was YA and the characters were teens
The Siren by Katherine St. John – Thriller set on a tropical island. All the characters come to film a movie and while there, some old secrets start coming out. A tropical storm comes through which is the perfect time for a murder!
A Botanists Guide to Parties and Poisons by Kate Khavri – A super fun historical mystery! Set in the 1920βs a group of University researchers are preparing to go on an expedition. Everyone gathers at a party and someone is poisoned! Saffron is accused of being involved so she tries to solve the mystery to prove her (and her mentors) innocence.
Blind Tiger by Sandra Brown – 1920βs Prohibition Era Texas. This story follows Laurel, a recent widow, and Thatcher, a war torn cowboy. Underground moonshiners, corruption, small town setting, murder & mayhem. It was a really captivating story!

What I’ve been eating:
As usual I have been making daily smoothies! I have a list of the smoothies I want to try but have been making the same old ones until I run out of the ingredients which will be soon! I will keep you guys updated on my new creations. For now my favourite has been the banana peanut butter smoothie π
I have been trying to cook more lately. If you know me then you might know that I’m not much of a chef haha. I don’t really enjoy cooking very muchβ¦ It just stresses me out and I HATE cleaning up the mess. But, I decided I need to broaden my horizons and try to cook something new for me and my fiancΓ©, Nick, once a week. Here are some of the recipes I tried:
- Shakshuka
- Enchiladas
- Homemade pizza (I used garlic naan bread as the pizza crust, tomato paste, salami, and mozza cheese)
What I’ve been watching:
I’m not the biggest TV person but I do watch some shows and movies here and there. I’m much more of a YouTube person so I figured I’ll share some YouTube videos I enjoyed this month too!
Last month I mentioned we started season 2 of Space Force. We finished it pretty quickly and loved it! So so funny and cute. Highly recommend it if you like Steve Carell.
The best movie I watched this month was The Adam Project. I seriously love Ryan Reynolds movies haha. It was so fun but also was a bit of a tear jerker so prepare yourself!
YouTube videos I enjoyed:
- what I wish I did differently when my YouTube channel blew up – Cathrin Manning
- i read 7 romance books in 7 days to fill the void – Jack Edwards
- I RAN MY *first* HALF MARATHON *from total beginner, my entire running journey + race day vlog – Taylor Woods
What I worked on:
A while ago I tried starting an email list. Based on articles I read, I started with MailChimp and was trying to figure it out but it seemed the free version was missing some options I wanted and I really didn’t want to pay for it. I heard that Convert Kit was good so I made an account there and noticed the same issue. I wanted to be able to send automatic emails (for opt-ins and whatnot) but couldn’t seem to do that with the free version, at least not easily. Talk about trial and error lol.
SO, I decided to give MailerLite a try and so far so good! I’m impressed by it and it’s been easy to figure out. I think the free version should work just fine and it will be free until 1,000 subscribers! I want to start sending a monthly email so if you want to support me in that way or would be interested in getting a monthly email from me, sign up!
Products Iβm loving:
As you may know, I like to keep things pretty easy and simple when it comes to skin care and things like that. I also don’t get new products very often but lately I’ve been using Neutrogena Hydro Boost Hydrating Serum.
I also got a new Lululemon travel bag for my trip coming up! It is so cute and has lots of pockets. Really excited to use it!
What I’m looking forward to:
I’m heading to Vegas pretty soon! I am so excited to go on a vacation. It has been YEARS since I last went on vacation. Like 2014 maybe? Anyways, Vegas here I come! Nick has never been to Vegas so it’s even more exciting to go on a vacation and share a new experience with him!
Wrapping it up:
Overall, March went by quickly. I am so happy to see that Spring is here. The weather has such a strong influence on my mental health so coming out for Winter is making me feel happier and less anxious. Really hoping my anxiety keeps lessening. So far so good!
I enjoyed the books I read this month. Can’t wait for some of my reads to come. I am starting the Vampire Academy series which will be a wild ride I’m sure! Anyone else read that series?
If you missed any of my blog posts this month here were some of my most popular ones:

What was something good that happened in March?

Great post. I loved βThe Adam Projectβ!!
Yes!! Loved it π
I love that you did a March recap and I honestly might do the same! A monthly recap is great and you get to see how much progress you have done. Love that you have been eating Shakshuka- it’s one of my fave ethnic dishes! Also, I have not read the Vampire Academy series but it’s on my list!
It was a new dish for me and it wasn’t perfect haha but was so happy I tried it! I would love to read your monthly recaps if you end up doing them β€
what a nice recap! 6books wow! I wish I could read that a lot too⦠I was able to finish 2 online courses and yes March was so fast.
Heck ya! Finishing 2 courses is amazing!
Thanks for all the recommendations. I want to see The Adam Project too. I used to be with Mailchimp, but I switched to MailerLite and love it.
Team MailerLite all the way!!
