The Perfect Romance Books For Valentine’s Day

There is no better time to read romance books than the month of February! With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, many of us are looking for all the cute and romantic books we can get! I know I love a good romance any time of the year but there’s something about February that makes me want them more! Anyone agree?
I have always been into those sappy rom-com movies but it took me a long time to really get into romance books. I hate that I waited so long to give them a go because they are now some of my favourite books. Why did I do that to myself??
If you are a newbie to romance then this list will be PERFECT for you! If you love a good romance then hopefully there is something on here you haven’t read yet (or maybe have on your reading list). I know that your reading list is forever growing because so is mine! So, let’s jump into the list of perfect romance reads for Valentine’s Day!

Enemies to Lovers
These books all follow a similar romance theme. The characters do not like each other, sometimes they even hate each other. There is always a lot of bickering and banter between them that sits on the fence of hatred and flirting. And as the title states, the enemies turn to lovers! These are 4 that I really enjoyed!
- The Unhoneymooners by Christina Lauren
- Get a Life, Chloe Brown by Tahlia Hibbert
- How to Love Your Neighbor by Sophie Sullivan
- All Stirred Up by Brianne Moore
Friends to Lovers
Who doesn’t like the cuteness of friends finally falling for each other?? I know I do! The characters have been long time friends and maybe one of them has always had a secret thing for the other. Somehow, some way, the feelings become apparent and friendship grows into something more. These are probably 2 of my all time favourite friends to lovers books!
- People We Meet On Vacation by Emily Henry
- Josh and Hazels Guide To Not Dating by Christina Lauren – read my review (this was my first Christina Lauren!!)

Faking Dating
Fake dating is my absolute favourite type of romance. Sometimes there is an overlap here with other themes such as enemies to lovers or friends to lovers. The whole premise is the couple decide to fake date each other usually for a mutual cause. However, as they fake date their feelings grow and maybe the dating isn’t really fake anymore. I have a longer list of favourites in this category!!
- Fix Her Up by Tessa Bailey
- The Plus One Pact by Portia MacIntosh
- Take a Hint, Dani Brown by Tahlia Hibbert
- The Love Hypothesis by Ali Hazelwood
- Accidentally Engaged by Farah Heron – I haven’t read this one yet but have heard from so many people that its amazing
Meet Cute
Meets cute is all about those random chance encounters that lead to something more. Sometimes it’s funny like running into each other in the hallway, papers flying. Sometimes it’s awkward and embarrassing. Here are 2 fun reads!
- Eight Perfect Hours by Lia Louis
- The Happy Ever After Playlist by Abby Jimenez
- The Borrow a Bookshop Holiday by Kiley Dunbar
Normal person gets with Royal/ Celebrity
This one is probably not for everyone but I always have a lot of fun with these ones! I love the idea of the normal girl getting with a Prince or whatever it may be. There’s the love aspect but I also enjoy them stepping into a whole new world and all the mishaps that happen along the way!
- The Royal We by Heather Cocks
- The Heir Affair by Heather Cocks
- Bookish and the Beast by Ashley Poston
I hope you find a new book to read this month!! Let me know if you end up reading any of these. I would love to know your thoughts!

Let’s chat!
What is your favorite type of romance book?

I’ll have to check out the Meet Cute book recommendations- that’s my favorite kind of romance novel! Thanks for sharing!
Love that!! Hope you enjoy 🙂
Interesting post! I could never read for a very long time cause I constantly get distracted. But it is impressive that you love reading so much!
Thanks! Most of these books are pretty fast and easy reads so would be good if you get distracted ❤
Your second paragraph is totally me! I used to only read suspense novels (that had some romance). Then one day about 2 years ago, I thought so if my movie choice is rom com, why am I not reading them! I guess it is because I’m not into the graphic romance books. But I started reading the rom com type books and haven’t read many suspense novels since. I can’t wait to work my way through these. Thanks!
I love that haha! I hope you enjoy these ones 🙂
I love charming meet-cute romances! The unexpected but beautiful twists and turns make for an interesting storyline. I will surely read all of the books you recommended. 😍
Love the twists and turns too!! Happy reading 🙂
