How to make journaling for kids and adults a habit

Like any habit, you need to be consistent! Pick a day of the week or a certain time that you will sit down with your child and journal.

You could celebrate certain journaling milestones. For example, getting your child something they want once they’ve done 10 journal entries.

Get the child involved with creating the habit as well. Keep a sticker chart, ask when they would most want to journal, and make it as fun as possible.

Keep the journal sessions short at first. If they only last a few minutes, that’s okay. Over time, they will hopefully last longer.
